Question 1

What exactly does Patch of Pickles make?

Accepted Answer

We hand-craft heavyweight R-13 insulated covers designed specifically to freeze-proof backflow preventers and outdoor plumbing assemblies during harsh cold snaps.

Question 2

Why do I need an insulated cover — can't I just wrap my pipe in a towel or foam?

Accepted Answer

Towels absorb moisture and freeze solid, accelerating pipe bursts. Cheap foam slips off and degrades in UV. Our covers feature R-13 residential-grade insulation enclosed in a waterproof, UV-blocking marine Cordura shell with heavy-duty velcro straps.

Question 3

How do I know which cover or size I need?

Accepted Answer

Use our guided Product Finder — answer a few quick questions about your install type and equipment and we'll match you to the exact product and size. If you're still unsure, call or text Jason at (877) 651-7222.

Question 4

How fast do you ship, and what does shipping cost?

Accepted Answer

Orders ship directly from our Lockhart, Texas workshop for a flat $5.00 fee. Central Texas orders typically arrive in 1 to 2 business days.

Question 5

Do you ship outside Central Texas?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We ship across Texas and nationwide anywhere cold weather threatens outdoor plumbing — still just $5.00 flat-rate.

Question 6

What if I order the wrong size?

Accepted Answer

We offer hassle-free exchanges. If you're ever unsure between two sizes, we recommend sizing up — a slightly larger bag traps extra warm air.

Question 7

Are these really handmade in the USA?

Accepted Answer

100% yes. Every single cover is cut, sewn, and inspected in our workshop in Lockhart, Texas.
